Day 2 : Osaka Redemption?
With day 1 such a blunder, day 2 had to be the start of the redemption arc… and what better way to do that than PANCAKES!!!

These aren’t just any pancakes. These are souffle pancakes, made very similarly to meringue.
We arrived five minutes after they opened and there was already a two hour wait.
We wandered around the market until it was our turn and once we got our food it took us less than two minutes to finish it.
Not kidding, it was like eating a textured cotton candy. AMAZING, but gone very fast.
Honest review. Not worth waiting multiple hours for breakfast but definitely worth trying once for the experience. Now we didn’t have many plans in Osaka other than explore so we tried the tourist way, we asked google.
This led us to take pictures with the iconic Glico Running Man.

Then we went strolling around Dotonbori.
I wasn’t really a fan. The lights and advertisements were incredible, but the overall atmosphere just wasn’t it for me. Just like in Tokyo, it felt like it was mostly tourists, all eating and walking around. Not to mention the prices were definitely spiked.
We wandered around Osaka for maybe another hour before deciding to head back to Kyoto and walk around the streets near our Airbnb instead.
You might be asking yourself, it doesn’t seem like Osaka saved the trip. Well, you would be correct. All this day really did was support my assessment from the day before: the food is good and the place is clean, but nothing felt that special to me.
